Puri Srimandir Nata Mandap Restoration Progress: Amicus Curiae Submits Status Report

Cuttack: Amicus curiae NK Mohanty on Monday submitted a status report to the Orissa High Court on the ongoing restoration of Puri Srimandir Nata Mandap (Dancing Hall). Mohanty stated that a crucial meeting is set between December 19 and December 21 to discuss beam design and finalize the course of action.

Key restoration steps include dismantling the decorative wooden-framed ceiling in the central column area, stored in the SJT Museum. Additionally, de-plastering and joint sealing of corbel stone members in all directions have been completed.

The upcoming hearing on this matter is slated for January 18, 2024. Earlier, a vital meeting in November preceded the restoration works, following the High Court’s directive. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the restoration work.
