33 Opposition MPs Suspended from Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Thirty-three Opposition MPs were suspended from Lok Sabha for rest of the Winter Session after their protest in the house demanding Union Home Minister Amit Shah to give a statement in the House on the massive security breach in Parliament.

The suspended MPs included Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Congress’s leader in Lok Sabha, and Gaurav Gogoi, deputy leader of the party in the House.

Earlier, 13 Opposition MPs were suspended for demanding a statement by the Home Minister. Added to them, three more MPs were suspended pending a report from the Privileges Committee. This means that a total of 47 MPs have been After the suspension order, Chowdhury said the government was behaving in a dictatorial manner and treating Parliament as BJP headquarters.
