Ratna Bhandar Reopening: Srimandir Committee Approaches Odisha Govt

Puri: The Srimandir Managing Committee has decided to seek permission from the Odisha government to allow the ASI to reopen and repair the Ratna Bhandar during Rath Yatra 2024.

The ASI has proposed to inspect the Bhandar during Rath Yatra, when the deities embark on their nine-day journey to the Gundicha Temple.

A technical committee will be formed to assess the condition of the outer Ratna Bhandar. The ASI will present their inspection report in the subsequent managing committee meeting.

The Managing Committee has also urged the State government to establish a high-level committee to oversee the process of reopening and repairing the inner Ratna Bhandar.

These decisions mark significant progress in ensuring the preservation and maintenance of the revered Ratna Bhandar at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
