Ravenshaw University’s Second Campus Ready for Inauguration; Mayor Assesses Progress

Cuttack: A team from the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) recently visited Ravenshaw University’s newly constructed second campus in Cuttack. Led by Mayor Subhash Chandra Singh and Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi, along with CMC Commissioner Nikhil Pavan Kalyan and other officials, the team assessed the infrastructure and connectivity of the university’s expanded campus spanning 126 acres in the CDA Sector-13 area.

To enhance accessibility, the CMC plans to establish ‘Mo Bus’ connectivity to the second campus of Ravenshaw University. Additionally, they will install signboards and speed breakers along the road connecting the campus. The team also visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Cuttack to evaluate its infrastructure and requirements.

In a forthcoming initiative, the CMC will undertake plantation activities on both the Ravenshaw University campuses. Vice-Chancellor Sanjay K. Nayak stated that the second campus is nearly ready to commence classes for the 2023-24 academic year. In the first phase, the state government and Ravenshaw University Syndicate approved the relocation of the ITM, IST, JMC, and BBA departments to the new campus. However, ITM and IST classes will commence at the second campus in July this year.

The Ravenshaw second campus boasts essential facilities such as smart classrooms, dedicated computer rooms, hostels, an administrative block, a library, a health centre, a playground, a bank, a cafeteria, and placement cells. The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that efforts are underway to accommodate classes for all self-financing courses at the second campus in the near future.
