Sexagenarian Crushed To Death By An Elephant In Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A sexagenarian was reportedly crushed to death by an elephant at Kulba village under Ujalpur Forest Range in Sundargarh district today.

The deceased has been identified as Klara Soren (60) of the same village.

Locals, who were at the spot and saw the event unfold described the horrific scene to the media.

Soren was en route to her farmland for some routine agricultural work when an elephant appeared all of a sudden and caught hold of her, crushing her to death, according to an eyewitness.

Locals present there immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead by the doctors.

Meanwhile, the entire village was sphered by a sense of anguish.

The villagers and the victim’s kin have requested the district administration to provide them with adequate compensation.
