Bhubaneswar: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), four locations in Odisha had temperatures that fell below 10 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
At 7.4 degrees Celsius, Similiguda in Koraput had the lowest temperature. G Udayagiri (9 degrees Celsius), Phulbani (9.5 degrees Celsius), and Daringbadi (9.5 degrees Celsius) in the Kandhamal district are the other three locations.

Four more locations saw temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius: Nabarangpur (10 degrees), Kirei in Sundargarh (10 degrees), Koraput (10.2 degrees), and Boudh (10.5 degree Celsius).
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered 16.8 °C and 17 °C, respectively.

IMD predicted that there wouldn’t be a significant shift in the current chilly trend over the next four to five days. So to say, Odisha is expected to experience winter chills for the next week or so.
The prevailing wind pattern, according to H R Biswas, the director of the regional IMD centre, supported the state’s mercury level dropping by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
