IOA Announces Tentative Schedule for 38th National Games in Uttarakhand

New Delhi: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced that Uttarakhand will host the 38th edition of the National Games from January 28 to February 14, 2025, pending approval from the IOA’s General Assembly on October 25.

The event will feature competitions in 38 sports, subject to the assembly’s approval and over 10,000 athletes, coaches and officials are expected to participate.

The IOA is working closely with the Government of Uttarakhand to ensure a successful event. IOA President PT Usha expressed excitement about Uttarakhand hosting the National Games, praising the state’s commitment and enthusiasm. “The Games provide a crucial platform for athletes to showcase their talents and progress in their sporting careers. I am also keen on receiving a proposal for Uttarakhand to host the National Winter Games,” Usha said.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to the IOA, stating, “We are committed to delivering a world-class sporting experience, highlighting both our sporting excellence and Uttarakhand’s rich culture.”

The state government is focusing on infrastructure development, with venues being upgraded to international standards and logistical arrangements being made to accommodate participants and spectators.
