Thiruvananthapuram: Former Indian captain Ajay Jadeja has been appointed as the mentor of the Afghanistan cricket team for the upcoming Men’s ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place in India from October 5 to November 19.

Jadeja brings a wealth of experience to the role, having played 196 ODIs for India, scoring 5359 runs at an average of 37.47. He is also a veteran of three Cricket World Cups.

Jadeja’s appointment is expected to provide valuable insights and guidance to the Afghan team as they aim to make their mark on the global cricket stage.

Jadeja is one of the most decorated cricketers in India’s history. He is the eighth-highest run-scorer for India in ODIs and has also represented the country in 15 Tests and 111 first-class matches.
