Local Cricket Sensation Takes 6 Wickets in 6 Balls, Setting New Record

Melbourne: In an incredible feat of cricketing prowess, Gareth Morgan, captain of the Mudgeeraba Nerang & Districts Cricket Club, claimed six wickets in six balls during a local match in the Gold Coast’s Premier League Division 3 competition on Saturday. This remarkable achievement helped his team secure a thrilling four-run victory over Surfers Paradise Cricket Club.

Chasing a target of 178 runs, Surfers Paradise was well-positioned at 174 for 4 in the final over of the 40-over match. However, Morgan’s exceptional bowling turned the tables as he dismissed six batsmen in six deliveries, with Surfers Paradise collapsing to 174 all out.

Morgan’s devastating spell saw five batsmen fall for golden ducks, with the first four dismissals caught and the final two bowled. The Mudgeeraba captain also contributed significantly with the bat earlier in the day, top-scoring with a rapid 39.

Morgan’s all-round performance earned him outstanding figures of 7/16 off seven overs, with his six-wicket haul surpassing the professional cricket record of five wickets in an over held by players like Neil Wagner, Al-Amin Hossain, and Abhimanyu Mithun.

This extraordinary feat by Morgan is a testament to his exceptional cricketing skills and a memorable moment for the Mudgeeraba Nerang & Districts Cricket Club.
