BCCI to Release Additional 4,00,000 Tickets for ICC ODI World Cup 2023

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that it will release an additional 400,000 tickets for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The decision comes after the initial sale of tickets was met with criticism due to high demand and technical issues.

The return of the ODI World Cup to India after 12 years has caused a surge in ticket demand, especially for matches involving India. Many fans were left disappointed as tickets sold out within minutes, with some waiting up to 11 hours and experiencing app crashes.

Tickets for non-India warm-up matches and main round matches like Australia vs. Netherlands, England vs. Bangladesh, New Zealand vs. South Africa, and Pakistan vs. Australia are still available, ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000 per person via official ticketing partner BookMyShow.

However, the India matches remain the primary attraction, with sold-out windows for key venues and smaller locations. In response, the BCCI has announced the release of 400,000 additional tickets to accommodate passionate cricket fans.

The BCCI stated, “Cricket enthusiasts from around the world can now secure their seats to witness the cricketing extravaganza of the year.” General ticket sales for all ICC men’s World Cup 2023 matches will start on September 8, 8:00 PM IST, at https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com. Further ticket sale details will be provided in due course.
