Rohit Sharma Confident of Team’s Health and Outlook for World Cup

In a promising update for Indian cricket fans, captain Rohit Sharma has expressed strong confidence in the team’s health and outlook for the upcoming World Cup.

While India displayed their strength in the recent Asia Cup Final despite missing a few key players, the composition of the team for the World Cup is yet to be determined.

However, Sharma is optimistic about the recovery of all-rounder Axar Patel and batter Shreyas Iyer before the World Cup opener on October 8. Patel is facing a recovery period of approximately a week or ten days, while Iyer is considered “99% fit” and ready for action.

Regarding veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma confirmed that Ashwin is still in contention for a spot in the World Cup squad, despite not being called up as a replacement for Axar Patel in the Asia Cup final. Washington Sundar was favoured for that role due to his last-minute availability.

Rohit Sharma emphasized clear communication with players about their roles and expressed confidence in the team’s preparation for the World Cup.
