Jasprit Bumrah Regains Fitness; Added To Indian Squad For Sri Lanka ODIs

Mumbai: Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all set to be seen in Indian colours again after being added to the team on Tuesday for the forthcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. Bumrah last featured for the Indian side in the T20Is at home against Australia in September of last year before being sidelined from the T20 World Cup owing to a stress fracture in his back.

The addition of Bumrah would strengthen India’s fast bowling unit, where the team has been lacking fire for some time.

Given the importance of Bumrah to the team in a year when they will host a 50-over World Cup, it would be intriguing to observe how the team management manages him.

Bumrah’s participation comes two days after the Board of Control for Cricket in India unveiled new measures to make sure that important players don’t falter due to injury before major international competitions.

Bumrah has played a significant role for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL over the years, and everyone will be watching how the team manages his workload in this year’s competition.

India’s updated squad for Sri Lanka ODIs:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya (VC), Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh.
