Kuldeep & Siraj Rip Through Bangladesh; Reduce Them To 133/8 At Stumps On Day 2

Chattogram: The second day of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh in Chattogram saw India hold complete command over Bangladesh, giving them a sizable lead of 271 runs at the end of Day 2.

India was able to put up around 300 runs on Day 1 after fending off an early loss of wickets. The KL Rahul team kept up the good work and initially put on a great performance with the tail, scoring 85 runs off 200 balls together thanks to the combined efforts of Ravi Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav. This assisted India in scoring a massive 404 in the first innings, which, according to Cheteshwar Pujara, is a winning total in this match.

In his 58-run innings from 113 balls, Ashwin was aggressive against the spinners, smashing 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Kuldeep Yadav, who hit 40 off 114 before being dismissed by Taijul Islam, provided him with adequate support.

Although the Chattogram pitch was anticipated to flatten as the game went on, it did not appear to do so as Bangladesh batted on Day 2. In the first 20 overs, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav, two Indian fast bowlers, shook the Bangladesh top order and reduced them to 56/4. Then, the Indian spinners entered the battle and increased the pressure that the pacers had put on the opposition.

Kuldeep put his skill set on display, taking 4 wickets for 33 runs off of his ten overs, whereas, Mohammed Siraj scalped 3 for himself.

Brief Scores:

Bangladesh (133/8 in 44 overs) trail India (404-all-out) by 271 runs at the end of Day 2.
