Men’s World Boxing Championships: Deepak Bhoria & Nishant Dev To Play Their Quarterfinal Today

Tashkent: Indian boxers Nishant Dev and Deepak Bhoria will play in the quarter-finals of the Boxing World Championships 2023 in Tashkent today. Nishant will face Cuba’s Jorge Cuellar. Deepak will be up against Diushebaev Nurzhigit of Kyrgyzstan, and he will look to confirm a medal for India.

Yesterday, Deepak reached the quarterfinals of the men’s 51kg category with a 5-0 unanimous decision win over Zhang Jiamao of China. His compatriot Nishant Dev knocked down Nidal Foqahaa of Palestine twice inside the first minute to force the referee to stop the contest. He advanced to the men’s 71 kg category quarterfinal.

Sachin Siwach dropped a 0-5 loss in pre-quarterfinal of 54 kg category to the Worlds silver medallist Makhmud Sabyrkhan of Kazakhstan.
