IND vs BAN: Heated Exchange Between Rishabh Pant, Litton Das During 1st Test in Chennai

Chennai: Rishabh Pant and Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das were involved in a heated exchange during Day 1 of the first Test in Chennai.

The incident occurred in the 15th over of India’s first innings when Taskin Ahmed was bowling to Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal defended a good-length delivery towards gully, and Pant attempted to steal a run but was sent back. The ball, however, unknowingly deflected off Pant’s pads and rolled towards mid-on, allowing the batters to complete a run.

Litton Das was visibly displeased with Pant and confronted him over the run taken after the deflection. The duo exchanged words before Litton returned to his position behind the stumps.

After 67 overs, India had reached 271 for 6. Ravichandran Ashwin was unbeaten on 73, while Ravindra Jadeja was not out on 50. Pacer Hasan Mahmud scalped 4 wickets, dismissing Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Pant on a lively Chepauk surface after Bangladesh opted to bowl first.
