From MI Glory to CSK Charm: Ambati Rayudu Reflects on IPL’s Dual Delight

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu with stints at Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), shared insights on his IPL journey during The Ranveer Show podcast on YouTube. While Rayudu acknowledged the greatness of his time with MI, he emphasized the special nature of his experience with CSK.

Rayudu, who began his IPL career with MI in 2010, played a crucial role in their three title victories (2013, 2015, and 2017), particularly shining in the 2015 final. His adaptability was a key asset, as he batted across various positions in the order.

However, the turning point in Rayudu’s IPL career came in 2018 when he joined CSK. Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, Rayudu found a renewed dedication to the game. His first season with CSK saw an impressive tally of 602 runs, contributing significantly to CSK’s title triumph in 2018.

Rayudu acknowledged the uniqueness of donning CSK colours after eight years with MI, describing the experience as “weird” initially. Despite the shift in environment, facing former teammates, and adjusting to a different team culture, Rayudu’s time at CSK became even more special, marking a defining chapter in his IPL journey.
