The bowling all-arounder Shardul Thakur was the target of Hitman’s outburst due to a lacklustre bowling performance. The incident took place during the third one-day international between India and New Zealand at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Tuesday, January 24.

When Shardul Thakur returned to mark his run-up in the 27th over of New Zealand’s innings, skipper Rohit Sharma approached and was seen berating him for letting the Kiwi batters score freely rather than trying to keep them quiet when the game was already tense. The wayward balls delivered by Thakur that allowed a well-positioned Devon Conway to easily handle boundaries reportedly incensed the Indian captain.
