Venkatesh Prasad Criticizes ACC’s Decision to Have Reserve Day Only for Indo-Pak Clash

Former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, known for his candid opinions on cricketing affairs, voiced his criticism of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for introducing a ‘Reserve Day’ for the India vs. Pakistan Super 4 clash. Prasad, who has previously been vocal about various cricket-related issues, initially posted a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) that raised eyebrows among fans.

In his original tweet, Prasad expressed his concerns, stating, “It takes one corrupt, arrogant guy to take away the hard work of an organisation that is generally non-corrupt and get a stamp of corruption on the whole leadership, not just on a micro level but at a large level.” However, he later deleted the tweet due to misinterpretation.

Explaining the reason for deleting his initial tweet, Prasad clarified, “That was a general tweet where I spoke about how one person who is corrupt can undo a lot of good work of his organisation and it can have large-scale implications on a macro level as well in any field. Since I was also speaking about the inefficiency of the BCCI around tickets in other tweets, it led to confusion and looked out of context. Hence deleted,” he said.

Prasad has not shied away from expressing his critical opinions on various cricket-related matters, including the functioning of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), player selection, and individual performances.
