Morning Classes Begin At Anganwadi Centers In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Anganwadi centres have switched to morning classes from Monday in view of the steep rise in the maximum (day) temperature in the past couple of days.

In a notification issued on Sunday, the Women and Child Development Department stated that as per the decision of the government, all Anganwadi centres will operate from 7.00 am to 10.00 am from April 17. The decision has been taken considering the prevalent heat wave condition in the state.

The Anganwadi centres have also been directed to make arrangements for an adequate supply of drinking water for the children and their staff during working hours.

However, the district collectors have been told to make changes in the timing of the Anganwadi centers as per the heat condition in their areas. They can also declare the closure of the centers, if necessary.
