Jailor Suspended for Attacking Another Jailor & Ransacking Latter’s Office

Bhubaneswar: A jailor named Kedarnath Behera was suspended for attacking another jailor and vandalizing the latter’s office.

The suspended jail official was posted as jailor-cum-superintendent of Rajgangpur sub-jail, now attached to Biju Patnaik Open Air Prison at Jamujhari.

Kedarnath allegedly attacked jailor Ashok Behera with a stick and ransacked the victim’s office at the Jamujhari Open Air Jail. He also ransacked Behera’s office.

Kedarnath has been placed under suspension over charges of ‘gross misconduct’. As per reports, he was in an inebriated state during the incident.

After suspension, the headquarters of Kedarnath Behera shall be at Circle Jail, Koraput. He cannot leave the headquarters without obtaining the permission of the competent authority.
