Malkangiri: Personnel of the BSF unearthed a secret Maoist dump in Bejangiwada Reserve Forest in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Monday. The items seized from the spot included arms and ammunition, including a country-made rocket launcher and several improvised hand grenades.
According to sources, this Maoist dump was located in the forest region under Kalimela police station limits, said a release issued by the BSF 142 Battalion.
A country-made rocket launcher, 15 improvised hand grenades, two mortar bombs, one 303 rifle, three guns, 29 gelatin sticks, 30 electric detonators, five packets of aluminum nitrate, live ammunition, IED-making materials, and other items were recovered from the dump.
According to the BSF release, Maoists had stored this huge quantity of arms and ammunition with a motive to use them against the security forces.
