Tata Memorial Centre to Establish Cancer Hospital & Education Centre in Odisha’s Jatani

Bhubaneswar: The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is set to establish a Cancer Hospital & Education Centre in Jatani, Odisha. The State Cabinet has approved the proposal, which was put forth by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

The government has allocated 48.842 acres of land in the mouzas of Padanpur, Baratota, Bhimapur, and Belapada, within Jatani Tehsil, Khordha district, for the project. This land will be leased to the National Institute of Science Education & Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, at no cost.

The TMC will be responsible for the design, construction, and operation of the Cancer Hospital & Education Centre. The hospital is expected to have a capacity of 200 beds and will provide comprehensive cancer care services, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. The education centre will offer training programs for healthcare professionals in cancer care.

The establishment of the Cancer Hospital & Education Centre is a major step towards improving cancer care in Odisha. The project is expected to benefit thousands of cancer patients from the state and neighbouring regions.
