Man Killed in Crocodile Attack in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Tragedy struck Singidi village in Kendrapara district on Wednesday morning when a man was found dead after a crocodile attack.

The deceased, identified as Sanatan Samal, had reportedly gone missing after going to a pond for a bath on Tuesday night. His family members grew concerned when he didn’t return home and launched a search party.

Sanatan’s family’s worst fears were confirmed on Wednesday morning when they found his bicycle and slippers lying abandoned near the pond’s bank. Upon closer inspection, villagers spotted a crocodile near the pond, preying on what they suspected to be Sanatan’s body.

The villagers immediately alerted Sanatan’s family and others in the village. Together, they managed to retrieve the body from the crocodile’s grip.

The Rajkanika police were informed of the incident and have launched an investigation.
