Bhitarkanika National Park Reopens Today for Tourists With Added Attraction of ‘Skywalk’

Bhubaneswar: After being closed for three months, the Bhitarkanika National Park reopens for tourists from Thursday.

The Bhitarkanika National Park was shut down for tourists from May 1 to July 31 for the breeding season of the rare saltwater crocodile.to facilitate the breeding of crocodiles. It reopened with the end of the breeding season of the crocs.

A 15-foot-high skywalk at Dangamal by the forest department will be the added attraction for the tourists coming to the National Park. The 600-meter-long skywalk will allow tourists to enjoy the natural surroundings. They will be able to watch various birds, deer, and reptiles while walking on it.

The 600-meter-long walkway is made of wood. It starts from the Mangrove Metta Nursery. It will provide a unique opportunity to tourists to enjoy nature.

Keeping the safety of passengers in mind, only 20 tourists at a time will be allowed on the walkway.
