Night Stay Luxury Cruise facility in Bhitarkanika Sanctuary Soon

Bhubaneswar: To attract nature-loving tourists Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary in Odisha will soon provide night stay facilities on luxury cruises sailing amidst the dense forest.

According to forest department sources, four Catamaran Cruises funded by the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Project (ICZMP) will be deployed for the purpose. With all the luxury facilities for the tourists, they will soon sail on the Bhitarkanika waterways.

These luxury cruises were procured for Rs 6 crore around eight years back. But the project could not take off. Now a Delhi-based company has been entrusted to sail the cruises. As per the agreement, the Delhi-based Heritage River Journeys Pvt Ltd will give Rs 5.20 lakh annually to the Tourism Department.

Two Catamaran cruises have been docked at Gupti, and another two will arrive in Bhitarkanika soon. , he said.

The company will hire employees and make other arrangements. Each cruise will serve four people for a night stay.
