Cruise in Hirakud Reservoir, Beach Shacks to Promote Tourism in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is planning to introduce a cruise vessel in Hirakud reservoir and beach shacks in 15 locations to for tourism promotion.

This was revealed at a review meeting of the tourism department chaired by Asit Tripathy, principal advisor to the Chief Minister, in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

During the meeting, it was decided to start cruise vessel service in the Hirakud reservoir in Sambalpur district. It was also mooted to build 15 beach shacks in the locations at Gopalpur and Sonapur in Ganjam district, Chandipur and Talasari in Balasore, and Paradip in Jagatsighpur.

Development of infrastructure and other amenities in Harishankar and Nrushingnath will be completed by December. Tripathy said the growth of tourism potential will boost the state’s development along with creating more employment opportunities for locals.
