Bhitarkanika to Remain Closed for Croc & Bird Census

Kendrapara: Visitors will not be allowed to enter the Bhitarkanika National Park in Odisha’s Kendrapara district from January 5 to 13 because of the enumeration process of saltwater crocodiles and birds.

According to the forest officials, the census of crocodiles and birds will be held in five forest ranges. Census teams of forest officials and wildlife experts will conduct the enumeration. These enumerators underwent training on January 9. The census will be carried out on January 10, 11 and 12.
