Class 10 Student Cheats on Pretext of Selling ‘Leaked’ MP Civil Services Exam Question Paper

Bhopal: A class 10 student from Rajasthan has been identified by the Madhya Pradesh police for his involvement in a cyber crime perpetrated on the pretext of selling “leaked” MP Civil Services Exam (Prelims) question papers.

Investigation revealed that this student had also allegedly cheated on the pretext of selling the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper a few months back. Police were surprised to know that he learnt the online fraud techniques from YouTube. The nabbed youngster wanted to spend the ill-gotten money on expensive clothes, shoes and restaurants.

The school student from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan created a channel on the social media platform Telegram claiming that he had accessed the preliminary exam papers of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) examination, held on June 23. He offered to sell the question paper for Rs 2,500 each.

A QR code was provided on the Telegram channel for payment via UPI. Police investigation has revealed that as soon as a person made payment through this QR code in the lure of getting the so called leaked exam papers, the student would block the mobile number of that buyer. He cheated many in this method.

Interestingly, this student never possessed any of the state service exam papers and he was making false claims to dupe the gullible candidates.

The student has been served a notice under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and a detailed investigation into the cheating case is underway. This student allegedly cheated on the pretext of selling the NEET-UG paper and the case is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) with the help of Rajasthan Police.
