Odisha’s 1st ‘Annapurti’ Food Grain ATM Inaugurated in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s first food grain ATM ‘Annapurti’ was inaugurated at Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar by the state Food and Civil Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Thursday.

This food grain ATM will dispense rice/wheat, round the clock.

Inaugurating the novel ATM, Patra said, “This food grain ATM will allow the consumers to escape from the nefarious swindling PDS rice dealers by choosing the facility”.

Basing on the success of the food grain ATM opened in Bhubaneswar, in coming days similar units will be opened in all districts and blocks of the state in the coming days, he said.

The food grain ATM facility can dispense 25 kg of rice/wheat at one time.

The “Annapurti” ATM machine which dispenses the type and quantity of the selected grain (wheat, rice or millet) commodity to each beneficiary, after biometric authentication, has been conceptualized, designed and developed by the World Food Programme India.
