Odisha CM Announces Cash Reward for Olympic Medal Winning Men’s Hockey Team; Rohidas To Get Rs 4 Cr

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government declared a cash reward for the Indian Men’s Hockey team and supporting staff for bagging the Bronze Medal in Paris Olympics 2024.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the team and announced the cash reward. All players of the team will get Rs 15 lakh each, while the lone Odia player Amit Rohidas will get a special award of Rs 4 core. The Odisha government will also provide Rs 10 lakh each to all supporting staff.

“I announce Rs 15 lakh cash reward for each player and Rs 10 lakh for each supporting staff. I also announced Rs 4 crore special cash reward for Odia player Amit Rohidas,” CM Majhi announced.

After the Indian team defeated Spain 2-1 to win the Bronze medal, the Chief Minister spoke with the players of the winning team over the phone. He also invited the team to visit Odisha. Today’s victory will inspire countless sports talents and sports lovers in the State, he said while congratulating skipper Harmanpreet Singh and the entire team for winning the medal.
