Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead at Punjab Border by BSF

New Delhi: A Pakistani intruder trying to infiltrate into India, crossing the Punjab border was shot dead by the BSF. Ahead of Independence Day, security forces are on “high alert” at the borders.

According to the BSF, the intruder was trying to cross the international border in the Dal village of Tarn Taran district of Punjab at around 8:30 pm on Monday. As he was approaching the border fence, the alert BSF personnel challenged the intruder.

But he did not stop and continued to advance towards the border security fence. Sensing danger and in view the high alert situation on the border in the wake of the forthcoming Independence Day, the BSF personnel fired at the advancing intruder, neutralising him on the spot.

The BSF guards the 553-kilometre-long India-Pakistan frontier in Punjab. It has declared a high alert on the frontline from August 10 in the wake of Independence Day.
