Senior IPS YB Khurania Appointed as Odisha DGP

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday appointed senior IPS officer Y B Khurania as the next Director General of Police (DGP). A formal notification in this regard was issued by the Odisha Home Department on Friday.

Recently, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet had approved the proposal of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to repatriate 1990-batch IPS officer YB Khurania to his parent cadre Odisha.

Khurania, a 1990-batch IPS officer, will succeed Arun Kumar Sarangi, who was the in-charge head of the state police force since December, 2023.
