Two Maoists from Chhattisgarh Surrender Before Odisha DGP in Kandhamal

Phulbani: Two Maoists from Chhattisgarh surrendered before the police in Kandhamal district in the presence of Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal on Thursday.

The surrendered Maoists were Ranjit Nayitam and Ranga Poyam. Both of them were active in the Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) unit of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) organisation.

Ranjit Nayitam was an area committee member. Ranga Poyam was a member of the Mahanadi area committee. They have been part of the Maoist organization since 2017 and were involved in several incidents of violence in Odisha.

Following their surrender, both former Maoists were promised proper rehabilitation under the Surrender and Rehabilitation Scheme of the Odisha Government.
