Siddaramaiah Approaches High Court Against Governor’s Nod to Prosecute Him in MUDA Land Scam Case

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday approached the Karnataka High Court against Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s decision to grant sanction to his prosecution over the alleged irregularities in the land allocation by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

The High Court will hear the matter at 2:30 pm on Monday. Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi will represent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the court.

On Saturday, Governor Gehlot gave the nod to Lokayukta to prosecute Siddaramaiah in the alleged land scam case.

Siddaramaiah is alleged of irregularities in the compensatory land allocation to his wife by the MUDA during his term as Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law, Malikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, and some officials of MUDA are also alleged to be involved in the alleged land scam.
