Rapist of Minor Girl Gets 20-Yr Jail Term in Kandhamal Dist

Phulbani: A man was awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by a POCSO court in Phulbani of Kandhamal district for raping a minor girl in 2023.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 55,000 on the convict Kissan Sanseth of Kotagarh area of the district. He would serve an additional jail term of eight months if he fails to pay the fine.

The court took statements of 18 witnesses and medical reports to pronounce the sentence.
