Warders Suspended for Using Mobile Phones Inside Karanjia Jail

Baripada: Two warders of Karanjia sub-jail in the Mayurbhanj district were suspended by the Jail Superintendent of Baripada Circle Jail for using mobile phones inside the jail premises.

The suspended warders of Karanjia Sub-jail, Swagat Kumar Ratha and Krushna Chandra Mohanta were suspended for violating the jail manual by the Senior Superintendent of Circle Jail, Baripada, as per the directive of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons following a thorough investigation into the allegations.

The two erring warders were found guilty of negligence, disobeying orders of superior officers as well as violating the jail manual by taking mobile phones inside the jail premises.

Both have been directed to report to the District Jail, Balasore during the suspension period.
