All Dist HQs in Odisha to Have Medical Colleges in 5 Yrs: Health Min Mahaling

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will set up medical colleges in all district headquarters of the state, said Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.

Speaking to the media on the occasion of the completion of 100 days of BJP government in the state, Mahaling said, “At present, Odisha has 11 medical colleges. Two more medical colleges will come up in Talcher and Kandhamal soon. As part of the top 21 promises made by the Mohan Majhi-led BJP government, we are committed to establish medical colleges in all district headquarters of the state in five years. We are working on the blueprint for the purpose.”

Mahaling added that after assuming office in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisioned to set up medical colleges in all districts of the country.

“Very soon all vacant positions in the medical colleges will be filled up,” he added.
