3 Persons Including School Student Electrocuted Death by Illegal Fence Against Wild Boars in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Three persons including a school student were electrocuted to death when they came in contact with an illegal electric fence erected to prevent wild boars from entering into agricultural field at the Perumpattu village in Tamil Nadu’s Tirupathur district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as K. Singaram (45), an ayurveda practitioner, his son S. Lokesh (15) and S. Karipriyan (65), an agricultural worker.

A country-made weapon, explosives, torch lights and nets were also recovered from the spot.

Preliminary police investigation revealed that Singaram, his son Lokesh and Karipriyan had entered the forest to hunt small wild animals like rabbits and spotted deer on Sunday morning.

While returning to village, they accidentally stepped onto the illegal electrical fence at the Perumapattu village.

Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
