Bengaluru Bus Conductor Stabbed After Requesting Passenger Not to Stand on Footboard

Bengaluru: A 45-year-old bus conductor was stabbed in Bengaluru on Tuesday after requesting a passenger not to stand on the footboard of the bus.

The accused, identified as Harsh Sinha from Jharkhand, was apprehended by fellow passengers and handed over to the police. The injured conductor, Yogesh, was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment.

Harsh Sinha, a former call centre employee in Bengaluru who was recently fired from his job, attacked the conductor during the incident. A video of the incident shows passengers exiting the bus in panic, while Sinha is seen holding a knife inside the vehicle.

The stabbing occurred near the Whitefield police station on a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus. The police arrested the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and have initiated further investigation.

This attack comes months after another violent incident in Bengaluru, where a 35-year-old cab driver fatally stabbed his girlfriend in public after she rejected his marriage proposal. The driver later confessed at a police station and was arrested.
