Former Odisha DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi Takes Charge as OPSC Chairperson

Cuttack: Arun Kumar Sarangi, former Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha, officially took charge as the Chairperson of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Tuesday.

After opting for voluntary retirement from the Indian Police Service (IPS), Sarangi was appointed as the OPSC Chairperson in September. Addressing the media, he emphasised his focus on maintaining transparency in examination processes and ensuring accurate evaluation of answer sheets.

Reflecting on his previous role, Sarangi remarked, “I will miss the uniform a lot.”

Sarangi will serve as OPSC Chairperson for six years from the date of assuming office or until he reaches 62 years of age, as per a notice from the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department issued in September.
