1 Arrested from Assam in Amit Shah Fake Video Case, Notices Against 3 Opposition Leaders

New Delhi: A Congress party worker was arrested in Assam’s  Guwahati in connection with a doctored video of Union home minister Amit Shah circulated on social media.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the arrest in a post on X, “Assam police have arrested an individual named Sri Reetom Singh in connection with the fake video involving Honorable Home Minister Sri Amit Shah.”

The manipulated video clip shows Amit Shah promising to end reservation for the backward classes. It is alleged that it is a doctored video clip.

Three leaders of the opposition have been served notices in the case. They include a Samajwadi party leader, two Congress leaders from Jharkhand and Nagaland.

Delhi Police teams investigating the case have left for Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Nagaland to investigate this fake video case.
