Doctored Video of Amit Shah Surfaces on Social Media

New Delhi: Acting on the complaint regarding a doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah uploaded on social media, the Delhi Police has registered a case and will be sending notices to all social media handles that uploaded or circulated it.

In this allegedly doctored video, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah is seen to be calling for scrapping of reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Delhi police registered a case regarding it on Sunday following a complaint lodged by the BJP.

According to the BJP, an old video of Amit Shah discussing the removal of the 4 per cent “unconstitutional” reservation for Muslims in Telangana was edited to falsely depict him calling for ending reservation during a recent Lok Sabha election rally.

Several social media handles, including the official handles of Congress’s state units, shared it claiming, “if the BJP government is formed again, OBC and SC/ST reservation will be abolished.”

According to Delhi Police sources, a team will reach Telangana to serve a notice to the Telangana Congress office. The Delhi Police may also issue notices to Congress officials who shared the video on social media, for questioning.
