20-Yr-Old NEET Aspirant Ends Life Kota, 9th Suicide in Kota This Year

Kota: A 20-year-old National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) aspirant hanged himself inside his hostel in Rajasthan’s Kota city, which was the ninth suicide in this “coaching hub”.

The victim was identified as Sumit from Rohtak, Haryana. He was in Kota for the past one year, attending a private coaching center for his preparations for the NEET exam.

On Sunday evening, the victim’s family called his hostel warden when their calls to the student were not answered. The hostel warden found Sumit’s room locked from inside. Receiving information, police reached the spot, broke open the door and found the victim hanging.

The police have started an investigation to ascertain the reason behind his suicide.

In 2023, 29 students died of suicide in Kota while they were preparing for NEET and JEE.
