Another NEET Aspirant Commits Suicide in Kota

New Delhi: Another student aspiring to crack the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to medical colleges, committed suicide in coaching hub Kota in Rajasthan.

The deceased student, identified as Bharat was from Dholpur in Rajasthan. It was the tenth suicide in this “coaching hub”.

On April 28, a 20-year-old NEET aspirant, Sumit from Rohtak, Haryana was found hanging in his hostel room in Kota.

Over two lakh students reach Kota every year to prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for engineering and the NEET.

In 2023, 29 students died of suicide in Kota while they were preparing for NEET and JEE.
