Amit Shah to Kick Off BJP Election Campaign in Odisha from Sonepur

Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Odisha on Thursday to kick off BJP’s election campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state from Somepur under the Bolangir LS constituency.

A day back, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik started the BJD’s poll campaign from Hinjli in Ganjam district.

According to BJP sources, Shah will arrive at Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, from Hyderabad at 3.45 pm. From there, he will travel to Sonepur by helicopter to address the public meeting at Rameswaram Stadium in Sonepur.

This public meeting of the BJP bears importance as Naveen Patnaik is also contesting from the Kantabanji assembly seat, which is part of the Balangir parliamentary constituency.

The adjoining Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency is having a big fight between Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJD organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP had won all five western Odisha Lok Sabha seats – Bolangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Kalahandi.

After the public meeting at Sonepur, Shah will reach Bhubaneswar for a night halt and discussions with Odisha BJP’s senior leaders regarding election preparations. during the night halt in the state capital.
