2 Fraudsters Cheating Job Aspirants Through Fake Website Arrested by Mumbai Police from Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Mumbai police with the help of local Commissionerate police arrested two cyber fraudsters from the Saheed Nagar area in Bhubaneswar on Friday. Using a fake website, these two had conned many job aspirants.

They were arrested in connection with a complaint filed by Mumbai Port Trust at MRA Marg Police Station in Mumbai on October 10, 2022.

The arrested youths were identified as Rajendra Mallick and Sachin Digal. They had opened a fake website in the name of the Mumbai Port Trust to cheat job aspirants.

Police seized 37 mobile phones, 12 PAN Cards, 38 ATM Cards, 25 SIM Cards and one laptop from the arrested duo.

Through the website, these fraudsters were collecting Rs 1000 each from job aspirants in the name of application processing fee.

The fraudsters were asking the gullible job aspirants to deposit money to some bank accounts that were in the name of some women from Bhubaneswar. But investigating police team found that these women had no knowledge about the bank accounts in their names. They informed the investigating team that two men had taken their Aadhaar cards. Acting on their information, the Mumbai police with the help of the Commissionerate police nabbed Mallick and Diggal. Mumbai police took the arrested duo on a transit remand for more questioning in the cyber fraud case.
