2 Suspected Al Qaeda Terrorists from Bangladesh Arrested in Assam

Guwahati: Two suspected terrorists of Al Qaeda from Bangladesh were arrested in Guwahati of Assam on charges of entering India illegally, reported NDTV.

Acting on a tip-off, the personnel of the Assam police arrested the two Bangladeshis from the Guwahati railway station on Monday.

They were identified as Bahar Mia (30), from the Brahmanbari district and Rasel Mia (40) from the Netrokona district of Bangladesh. They are members of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), linked to the banned Al Qaeda organization.

According to police sources, the duo was in Guwahati to radicalize the local youth.

They were found to be illegally staying in India without any valid passports. They had illegally obtained Indian documents to avoid identification. The Aadhaar and PAN cards seized from them are suspected to be fakes.
