2 Youths from Telangana, Mumbai Arrested Over Death Threats to Mukesh Ambani

Mumbai: A 19-year-old youngster from Telangana named  Ganesh Ramesh Vanapardhi was arrested for alleged involvement in the death threats sent through emails to Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani. Another accused, identified as Shabad Khan (19), was arrested from Mumbai’s Gamdevi area later in the day in relation to the case.

Three death threats were received by the industrialist’s office last week. The first e-mail sought Rs 20 crore, the second email demanded Rs 200 crore, while the third death threat was for Rs 400 crore ransom demand.

The arrested was sent to police custody till November 8.

Mukesh Ambani’s security in-charge registered a complaint with police in Mumbai. Initial police investigation revealed that the mail ID belonged to a person named Shadab Khan and the emails came from Belgium. Then police started investigating whether this was the correct ID or it was a fake ID to send the threatening mails.
