3 of a Chhattisgarh Family Die, One Critical as Car Plunges into Gorge in Koraput

Koraput: Three persons of a family from Chhatisgarh died and another was critically injured when the car in which they were travelling fell off Jodimadeli ghat road to fall into a gorge in Odisha’s Koraput district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Nandalal Thakar, Gaurav Thakar and Naman Thakar. The injured, Rachana Thakar was shifted to a hospital at Pottangi. The victims were from Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh.

The ill-fated family was travelling from travelling to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh from Chhattisgarh.

It is suspected that the vehicle veered off the road on the ghat and plunged into a 100-metre-deep gorge, either due to dense fog or after the driver dozed off.
