3 Teens Detained in Germany for Planning Islamist Attack

Three teenagers including two girls were detained by police in the Duesseldorf region of western Germany on suspicions that they were planning an Islamist attack.

The trio, aged from 15 to 16, are “strongly suspected of planning an Islamist-motivated terror attack and of having committed to carrying it out”, prosecutors said in a statement.

The prosecutors added that the teens were planning murder and manslaughter.

Details of their alleged plot have not been revealed. The inquiry was still underway.

According to Bild newspaper, these youngsters were allegedly planning to carry out Molotov cocktail and knife attacks in the name of the Islamic State group. As per the report, they were to target Christians and police.

Germny has been on high alert for Islamist attacks since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war in October.
